When you know all the time from being young, that one day when you can, you will move out. Move somewhere to a place where you can be free as a person. Where you can create, think free, learn more about yourself and find to love yourself.
I found this place, big city London. Where people are who they wanna be, where you can meet people from all around the world, where you can express yourself and don´t hide yourself in judgment. There is now fear of failing, because you need to try everything. Is a place where you don´t judge, you live, you dress, you create.
So what do you do when you finish your uni and your only hobbies are fashion, movies and music. I started to work in retail, in Urban Outfitters on Oxford St. And I´m still there after a year. So what can I say, I´m not really good in carrier. But I just didn´t know where else can I go. There have been many places I wanted to work for, but I didn´t had much experience in enviromental industry or fashion.
And for a half a year I was just floating, meeting people, living my life in a big city. Even thought it is fun, going to places every day, having fun with friends, for me as a person, it din´t complete me. Didn´t felt fulfilling, felt lost. In meanwhile I was growing up, I changed, became who I always knew I was inside. Building my confidence with small steps. Judgement was gone, makeup was gone, clothes was ON in a big way. Trying everything out, all what I wanted to wear I could. When there are no limits in clothing, where do you stop. You just don´t.
My passion for upcycling clothes grew as I attented Vivienne Westwood event about sustainable fashion. I made my whole outfit from upcycled jeans. I had this idea for a long long time, upcycling clothes from second hands. There is so much to use.
After that event it all started, I bought old jeans and started to make bags with them. My first bag was an upcycled tshirt with handmade embroidery that says "Eat Pussy Not Animals". Love this phrase,
it´s a message that people who walk around you, will for sure read. So many phrases can be used, I always liked more daring clothes. In this case it´s 2 in 1. Dare to show your thoughts, your believes, opinions to everyone. Not only close friends, people you speak with, but even with people you travel with, you walk the same way.
C.U.M. it´s about spreading a message, be outspoken, do what you want, feeling free in expressing yourself. Being comfortable with yourself and let anyone know, anyone who is in doubt with himself.
C.U.M. written on clothes shouldn´t be offending, it should be eye opening and a little bit shocking. Make people think during this busy days, get amussed, just feel something more.
C.U.M. is a love letter to the world, to feel and live with emotions.
