Fashion is now, is how people are connected and kinda the same in this moment.

WHAT IS STYLE ?

It represents us, us as an unique individual. We show the world what we feel, who we are.

WHY IS FAST FASHION AND BIG RETAILS DANGEROUS ?

Copying, we see it everywhere, every store is trying to be different, but at the end they are all the same. One retail makes a trend and everybody wants it as well. In every version. They don´t emphasize individualism, but copying. It is a circle that has an ending, but when you go out from the circle people follow. A new circle is born.

As a person that followed this circle, was infulenced by her friends, dressing the same, loved shopping in fast fashion retails. I knew this wasn´t me. This is not my style. But in these shops there was nothing that represented me. In your teens we all should just experiment, try everything on, find the right way and what we love. But where to find all the clothes. When I was around 15, my sister was starting a fashion blog. She needed clothes as well, she was recommended second hands. But we all know how it was before, second hands are disgusting and when you´re buying there, you are judged and looking poor. As a teen you care, you care for the judgement.

First I said no, after it changed my life. All the clothes that was there, all different, every piece was unique, you could find everything there. All the opportunities on how to dress. It was a mind blown. And it was so cheap, I mostly paid 0,50 - 5 euros. Amazing, I was bying so much clohtes. It is only 1 euro so why not. Many of them I was never even wearing because I didn´t like them after a second or I couldn´t wear it. The world in Slovakia wasn´t ready for me. It is more conservative place than London. I didn´t feel comfortable. I was always wearing "weird" clothes, but sometimes it would be TOO MUCH.

After years, second hands became more and more popular. This happend still not knowing what is really fast fashion about. After watching a swedish tv show about how they send people from Sweden to work in a fashion factory. It was shocking, first time I saw people working in this industry. You always imagine, but the truth is even worse. How is possible that in the 21.st the slavery is still here, it´s like it never left. The big eye opener for the world was, when building in Bangladesh collapsed with workers inside. The reveal took a big price. Rana Plaza is still remembered during Fashion Revolution week. The impact of the fashion industry is known now, as the 2nd largest polluter in the world, right behind the oil industry. We need to educate ourselfs, in order to safe the enviroment and people working for fashion industry.
